แต่กระนั้น เจอราร์ด จอห์นสโตน ก็มาอุดรอยรั่วต่าง ๆ ด้วยลีลาหยิกแกมหยอกในวิสัยทัศน์ความร้ายลึกของเขาได้อย่างบรรเจิด เพราะในแง่งานสร้างนั้น M3GAN 2.0 ถือว่ายังทำออกมาได้จึ้งใจ เผลอ ๆ น่าจะพัฒนาขึ้นได้เด่นชัดขึ้นจากภาคที่แล้วอีกด้วย งานสร้างดูยิ่งใหญ่ขึ้นมากและลงทุนมากยิ่งขึ้น อีกทั้งโทนบรรยากาศความเป็นหนังไซไฟระทึกขวัญที่คุ้นเคย ได้ถูกเพิ่มเติมเป็นหนังแอคชันสุดตื่นตา พร้อมกับมุกตลกเสียดสีสุดแสบสันต์ พ่วงด้วยจังหวะมิวสิคัลที่มงลงสุด ๆ

ทางฝั่งการแสดงอาจจะไม่ได้มีอะไรที่พิเศษมากนัก เพราะยังคงได้ทีมนักแสดงหลักชุดเดิมกลับมา ไม่ว่าจะเป็น “แอลิสัน วิลเลียมส์” กับ “ไวโอเล็ต แม็คกรอว์” รวมทั้ง “เอมี โดนัลด์” ที่กลับมาเป็นหุ่นเมแกน และเสียงพากย์ของ “เจนนา เดวิส” แต่สิ่งที่สัมผัสได้ชัดเจนก็คือการเติบโตของทุกคาแรกเตอร์ที่พวกเธอได้รับ สามารถถ่ายทอดออกมาได้ต่อเนื่องและหนักแน่ยิ่งขึ้นในทิศทางที่มองเห็นเป็นรูปธรรมได้

เสริมด้วยทีมนักแสดงสมทบ อย่าง “ไบรอัน จอร์แดน อัลวาเรซ”, “เจน แวน แอปส์” และ “อิวานนา ซัคห์โน” พวกเขาได้ช่วยมาเติมเต็มในส่วนของแคสติ้งที่ดูเป็นการยกระดับและอัปเกรดเวอร์ชันไปอีกขั้วหนึ่งได้ชัดยิ่งขึ้น แม้ว่าในองค์ประกอบส่วนนี้จะไม่ได้โดดเด่นสักเท่าไหร่ แต่เพราะความเด่นชัดของตัวละครนั้น ๆ ได้ช่วยประคับประคองหนังเอาไว้ดีอย่างมั่นคงอยู่แล้ว

แต่อย่างใด ๆ หนังก็ตอบโจทย์คนดูได้เป็นอย่างดี โดยเฉพาะในแง่การสร้างความบันเทิงสุดจึ้ง ที่ยกระดับจากหนังภาคแรกในโทนระทึกขวัญที่ทำให้น้องเส้นจัง..กลัวกลัว กลายมาเป็นหนังระทึกขวัญที่เพิ่มเติมด้วยความเป็นแอคชันนัวร์ ๆ ผนวกเข้ากับความขบขันเสียดสีอย่างมีอรรถรสแบบหนังเพื่อเพศที่สาม คารมหนังดีอย่างเป็นอิสระมากขึ้น ถึงในภาพรวมนั้นจะยังไม่ได้สร้างภาพที่ชวนจดจำได้แบบที่ภาคแรกทำเอาไว้ได้สักเท่าไหร่ แต่ก็ประทาบ..มากยะ!

He still takes on the responsibility of directing and overseeing the script once again. It’s clear that the success of the previous part should be able to increase the tax to demand more in other production elements. It’s obvious that this film will likely have a much larger production budget. That’s why the director’s full effort this time is the source of this.

Many parties may be concerned that M3GAN 2.0 will follow the same formula as robot war movies like Terminator. It can be said that this classic movie should be left in the past because don’t forget that the world of technology never stops moving. New versions are always being developed to replace it. And that is the question that this movie tries to solve and expand on with even more ambitious scope.

Although in reality, M3GAN 2.0 is no different from a movie like Hor Taew Tak in our country because it is made for entertainment purposes only. It may be serious and think too much. In terms of creating entertainment, I must say that the movie really did it. It raised the level of taste to the fullest and should please the audience more or less. But if we talk about it in terms of being a movie, it is still quite haphazard. In LGBTQ+ language, it goes on and on.

Because the script seems to be raising the level to be serious, touching on issues close to home in this era about AI technology and human daily life. But because the movie is mainly intended to serve entertainment, anything that is too academically logical may not be able to do that much. However, Gerard Johnstone has filled in the gaps with his teasing style of his deep evil vision brilliantly. In terms of production, M3GAN 2.0 is still impressive. It may even have developed more significantly from the previous part. The production looks much grander and more invested. In addition, the familiar tone of the sci-fi thriller has been added to be an exciting action movie with extremely sarcastic jokes and an extremely good musical rhythm.

On the acting side, there may not be anything particularly special because the original main cast still has the return of “Allison Williams” and “Violet McGraw”, as well as “Amy Donald” who returns as the puppet Megan and the voice of “Jenna Davis”. But what is clearly felt is the growth of every character they receive, which can be conveyed continuously and more firmly in a direction that can be seen tangibly.

Enhanced by a supporting cast including “Brian Jordan Alvarez”, “Jane Van Aps” and “Iwanna Zachno”, they helped fill in the casting that clearly elevates and upgrades the version to another level. Even though this element isn’t that outstanding, the prominence of the characters helps to hold the film together steadily.

It is a movie that is enjoyable to watch and fun to watch throughout the 2 hours, even though the script is not yet strong and the movie’s issues are trying to be built but are not very clear. That becomes a part that unfortunately undermines this movie.

But in any case, the film answers the audience’s needs very well, especially in terms of creating amazing entertainment, which raises the level from the first film in a thriller tone that made Nong Sen Jang… afraid, becoming a thriller that adds an action noir style, combined with satirical humor with a taste like a film for the third gender, with a more independent good rhetoric. Although overall, it still doesn’t create a memorable image like the first part did, but it’s very impressive!

Note: I would like to commend the Thai subtitles. Although they are just text, they are full of gimmicks that are in line with the culture of vocabulary that is appropriate for the era and time. They are a part that greatly enhances the enjoyment of this movie.
